Positive changes in the society

The first day of Global peace maker camp is still green in my mind. Till that moment I hadn't got any opportunity to mingle with friends from abroad. I was very much excited to meet Korean friends. After meeting Korean friends I not only got an opportunity to be friends with them but also got a plat form to explore myself.

 

Then after, I started working with GPM. Firstly, I joined as a volunteer. I was very much attracted by GPM activities, the way it organized camps and help needy students and people.

I always wanted to be a social worker, but was not able to find the way towards it. GPM showed me the way. It also helped me to establish myself in the locality. Before, I was nothing. After working with GPM, we started to do service in different parts of the locality in order to develop the plight status of people. Slowly people around me started to notice me and today I have been established as a youth leader in my locality. GPM has helped us to reconstruct our locality; it had played an important role to bring positive changes and feeling of ownership towards society in youths in our surrounding.
 

Today, I worked as a program coordinator in GPM. In the journey from volunteer to Program Coordinator i have learnt different lessons of life.  GPM taught me the better way to live. It showed me the destination that I need to achieve; it evoked my responsibilities towards society. These days we are doing lots of activities in our locality through GPM, we have constructed dozens of libraries, served many schools, taught uncounted students.  We have many more to do and far away to go.  We have just commenced our dream is far away, we are sure one day we will achieve it bringing positive changes in the society.
